چکیده
Abstract In the tropical-humid region, wet farming crops (e.g., paddy) are a common agricultural commodity with high-water requirement. Usually planted in Asia monsoon region high precipitation rate, these divided into cropping season and dry season. During season, they particularly vulnerable to drought caused by decrease precipitation. This study used Indonesia as case is aimed at assessing risk on crop during examining correlation between hazard its risk. For assessment, Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) was assess drought, using Global Satellite Mapping of (GSMaP) which has 0.1° × spatial resolution. The result analysis SPI drought-affected areas city scale showed that SPI-3 August most suitable timescale Indonesia. assessment conducted grid scale, where yield estimation model developed help Normalized Difference Vegetation (NDVI). Based detrended indicators, higher loss found area above threshold value ( r -value ≤ 0.6) indicating those were more while below lower even hit severe because existing irrigation system able resist drought’s impact loss.

Drought as a complex ecosystem crisis can affect vegetation density and health. Iran with an arid and semi-arid climate is exposed to this phenomenon. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effect of drought on vegetation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of meteorological drought on vegetation dynamics in Iran. In this regard, using MATLAB software, SPEI index with time ...
متن کاملMonitoring meteorological and agricultural drought dynamics in Barind region Bangladesh using standard precipitation index and Markov chain model
The Barind region of Bangladesh suffers from frequent drought due to poor and delayed rainfall in pre monsoon and monsoon season. In the present study details analysis of rainfall data has been carried out for the years 1971-2010. Two well known drought indices, Standard precipitation index (SPI) has been used to evaluate the precipitation deficit, and Markov chain model used to quantify the dr...

The present study examined year-to-year variations in areas affected by drought during a period of 39 water yearsin Iran. Ninety-five meteorological stations were chosen to provide near-continuous long-term records, althoughsome data was missing (less than 10%). The missing data points were estimated using a linear correlation methodbetween the reference station with the missing data points and...
